What an idea - to illustrate this common descriptive phrase. I doubt if people ever consider the witch's feelings. I certainly never have. It's an interesting question, Annie. The phrase has always been an effective one, in my opinion, to convey a perceived level of frigidity. But does such a condition warrant sympathy for the witch?
